Dear Howdy,

Thank you for your simply addicting newsletter...it's truly a candidate
for the 8th wonder of the world and 1st candidate for the cyber-world...
it just keeps blooming with more of what I need and, I think, what we
all need...please keep up the great works!!!

Type atcha later...

God bless you,

Phil H
God designed humans to want to believe in something.
That's the image of God that is in us. But as G. K.
Chesterton famously put it, when we reject the God
of the Bible, we don't believe in nothing; we believe
in everything -- including Little Green Men.

- - Chuck Colson
If I could speak in any
language in heaven or
on earth but didn't love
others, I would only be
making meaningless noise
like a loud gong or a
clanging cymbal. If I
had the gift of prophecy,
and if I knew all the
mysteries of the future
and knew everything
about everything, but
didn't love others, what
good would I be? And
if I had the gift of faith
so that I could speak
to a mountain and make
it move, without love
I would be no good to
anybody. If I gave
everything I have to
the poor and even
sacrificed my body,
I could boast about it;
but if I didn't love others,
I would be of no value
whatsoever. Love is
patient and kind. Love
is not jealous or boastful
or proud or rude. Love
does not demand its
own way. Love is not
irritable, and it keeps
no record of when it
has been wronged.
It is never glad about
injustice but rejoices
whenever the truth
wins out. Love never
gives up, never loses
faith, is always hopeful,
and endures through
every circumstance.

May You Always
Experience This
Kind Of Love,
Dr. Howdy

The Stones Cry Out: Archeology Bears Witness To The Gospels
by Charles Colson

A few years ago, people exploring the caves around
Jerusalem made the discovery of a lifetime: an
ancient burial site containing the remains of a crucified man.

The find was only one in a series that have
overturned a century-old consensus which held that
the gospels are almost entirely proclamation, with
little, if any, real history.

It turns out the remains belonged to a man who had
been crucified in the first century A.D. As Jeffrey
Sheler writes in his book "Is The Bible True?", the
skeleton confirms what the evangelists wrote about
Jesus' death and burial in several important ways.

First, there was the location. Scholars had long
doubted the biblical account of Jesus' burial. They
believed that crucified criminals were tossed in a
mass grave and devoured by wild animals. But this
man, a near contemporary of Jesus, was buried in the
same way the Bible says that Jesus was.

Then there's the physical evidence from the skeleton.
The man's shin bones had been broken, which confirms
what John wrote was the practice of the Roman
executioners. The Bible tells us that, because He was
already dead when the executioners reached him, Jesus was spared this act.

The evidence is especially important since scholars
have long dismissed the details of John's Passion
narrative -- treating them as theologically-motivated embellishments.

Another account that has been corroborated by
archeology is the story of Jesus healing the lame man
in John chapter 5. In this story, John describes a
five-sided pool just inside Jerusalem's Sheep Gate,
where the sick came to be healed. Since no other
document from antiquity -- including the rest of the
Bible -- mentions such a place, it had long been
assumed that John invented the locale.

But, as Sheler points out, when archeologists decided
to dig where John said that the pool was located,
they found a five-sided pool. What's more, the pool
contained shrines to the Greek gods of healing. John
hadn't made up the locale, after all.

This dismissing of the biblical text, without
bothering to dig, points out the weakness of
liberal scholarly opinion: much of the suspicion
about biblical texts can only be attributed to
prejudice. That is, it's a conclusion arrived at
before the facts are all in.

Scholars long assumed that the Bible, like other
documents of antiquity, is essentially propaganda.
But this prejudice manifests profound ignorance of
what Christians believe. Central to faith are history
and memory. Christians believe that God has acted,
and continues to act, in history. For us, remembering
what God has done is an act of worship -- something
that brings us closer to God.

Thus, while all these discoveries in the desert may
come as a surprise to the skeptics, they're no
surprise to believing Christians.

Archeology alone, of course, cannot bring a person to
faith, but finds like these offer an eloquent
argument for not dismissing the truth of Scripture
before the evidence has been examined.

Because, as we are learning, more and more every
day, Jesus wasn't kidding when he told us, "the stones will cry out."

More than ninety people conducted an all-night search for Dominic
DeCarlo, an eight-year-old boy lost on a snowy mountain slope.
Dominic, who had been on a skiing trip with his father, apparently
had ridden on a new lift and skied off the run without realizing it.

As each hour passed, the search party and the boy's family became
more and more concerned for his health and safety. By dawn they
had found no trace of the boy. Two helicopter crews joined the
search, and within fifteen minutes they spotted ski tracks. A
ground team followed the tracks, which changed to small
footprints. The footprints led to a tree, where they found the boy at last.

"He's in super shape!" Sergeant Terry Silbaugh, area
search-and-rescue coordinator, announced to the anxious family
and press. "In fact, he's in better shape than we are right now!"
A hospital spokeswoman said the boy was in fine condition, so he
wasn't even admitted.

Silbaugh explained why the boy did so well despite spending a
night in the freezing elements: His father had enough forethought
to warn the boy what to do if he became lost, and his son had
enough trust to do exactly what his father said.

Dominic protected himself from possible frostbite and hypothermia
by snuggling up to a tree and covering himself with branches. As
a young child, he never would have thought of doing this on his
own. He was simply obeying his wise and loving father.

Dominic reminds me of what we should do as servants, as pilgrims,
and as children of our loving and infinitely wise heavenly
Father. We are not to walk according to the course of this world,
which is passing away. Instead, we are to walk in obedience to
the Lord's commands. After all, He knows what is best for us.
That's one of the reasons I believe the Bible is so relevant for us today.

The apostle Peter tells us, "As obedient children, do not conform
to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just
as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is
written: 'Be holy, because I am holy' " (1 Peter 1:14-16).

In Christ we enjoy a holy standing before God. In 2 Corinthians
5:21 we discover that "God made him who had no sin to be sin for
us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." But
our actual state here on earth is sometimes a different story.

Because our Father is holy, and because in Christ we have a holy
standing, we are exhorted in Scripture to be holy in all that we
do. Every time we sin, we are forgetting who we are and why we
are alive. We are forgetting what is truly best for us. Yes,
wecan find forgiveness from the Father when we sin (1 John 2:1-2),
but sin is not to be the trademark of our lives.

In a world full of deceptive detours and confusing paths, let's
trust our Father and do exactly what He says.

To Ponder

Do you believe God knows what is best for you? If you're hesitant
to answer an emphatic "yes," why?

What is the trademark of your life? What trademark do you
want from now on?
I expect to pass through life but once. If, therefore, there be any
kindness I can how, or any good thing I can do to any fellow
being, let me do it now, for I shall not pass the way again.

Trust in yourself and you are doomed to disappointment;
trust in money and you may have it taken from you;
but trust in God, and you are never to be confounded in
time or eternity. - D.L. Moody
He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End!
He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all!
He is the Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times.
He always was, He always is, and He always will be...
He is God & God's ONLY means of salvation!
He is the Second Member of the Trinity!!!
Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone!

He was bruised and brought healing!
He was pierced and eased pain!
He was persecuted and brought freedom!
He was dead and brought life!
He is risen and brings power!
He reigns and brings Peace!

The world can't understand him,
The armies can't defeat Him,
The schools can't explain Him, and The leaders can't ignore Him.
Herod couldn't kill Him, The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him,
and The people couldn't hold Him!
Nero couldn't crush Him,
Hitler couldn't silence Him, The New Age can't replace Him,
and Donahue can't explain Him away!

He is perfect light, love, longevity, and Lord.
He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God.
He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure.
His ways are right,
His word is eternal, His will is unchanging, and
His mind is on me.
He is my Redeemer,
He is my Savior,
He is my guide, and
He is my peace!
He is my Joy,
He is my comfort,
He is my Lord, and
He rules my life!

I serve Him because His bond is love, His burden is
light, and His goal for me is abundant life.
I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise,
the power of the powerful, the ancient of days,
the ruler of rulers, the leader of leaders,
the overseer of the overcomers,
and the sovereign Lord of all that was and is and is to come.

And if that seems impressive to you, try this on for size.
His goal is a relationship with ME!
He will never leave me, never forsake me,
never mislead me, never forget me, never overlook me,
and never cancel my appointment in His appointment book!

When I fall, He lifts me up!
When I fail, He forgives!
When I am weak, He is strong!
When I am lost, He is the way!
When I am afraid, He is my courage!
When I stumble, He steadies me!
When I am hurt, He heals me!
When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me!
When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me!
When I face persecution, He shields me!
When I face problems, He comforts me!
When I face loss, He provides for me!
When I face Death, He carries me Home!

He is everything for everybody, everywhere, every time, and every way.
He is God, He is faithful.
I am His, and He is mine!
My Father in heaven can whip the father of this world.

So, if you're wondering why I feel so secure, understand this...
He said it and that settles it.
God is in control, I am on His side, and that means
all is well with my soul.
Everyday is a blessing for GOD Is!

I love the Lord and thank Him for all that he does in my life,
Therefore, I'm passing this on. Yes I do love Jesus.
He is my source of existence and Savior.
He keeps me functioning each and everyday.
Without Him, I will be nothing.

Without Him, I am nothing but with Him I can do all things.
Philippians 4:13

And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye search for Me
with all your heart. -Jer. 29:13

Things you can learn by raising kids

A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. foot house 4 inches deep.

If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with
roller blades, they can ignite.

A 3 year-old's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant

If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong
enough to rotate a 42 pound boy wearing Batman underwear and a superman cape.

It is strong enough however to spread paint on all four walls of a
20 by 20 foot room.

You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When
using the ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few
times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

The glass in windows (even double pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

When you hear the toilet flush and the words "Uh-oh", it's already too late.

Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

A six year old can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36
year old man says they can only do it in the movies.

A magnifying glass can start a fire even on an overcast day.

Certain Legos will pass through the digestive tract of a four year old.

Play Dough and Microwave should never be used in the same sentence.

Super glue is forever.

No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still
can't walk on water. Pool filters do not like Jell-O.

VCR's do not eject PB&J sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.

Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.

You probably do not want to know what that odor is.

Always look in the oven before you turn it on. Plastic toys do not
like ovens. The fire department in Austin has a 5 minute response time.

The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earth worms
dizzy. It will however make cats dizzy. Cats throw up twice their
body weight when dizzy............

Verse of the Day

* * * Four important things to KNOW: #1) For ALL (Americans, Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Hindus, Buddhist, Asians, Presbyterians, Europeans, Baptist, Brazilians, Mormons, Methodist, French, etc.) have sinned & fall short of the glory of God. #2) For the wages of above (see #1) are DEATH (Hell, eternal separation from God, & damnation) but the Gift (free & at no charge to you) of God (Creator, Jehovah, & Trinity) is Eternal Life (Heaven) through (in union with) Jesus Christ (God, Lord, 2nd Person of The Trinity, Messiah, Prince of Peace & Savior of the World). #3) For God so greatly loved & dearly prized the world (Americans, Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Hindus, Buddhist, Asians, Presbyterians, Europeans, Baptist, Brazilians, Mormons, Methodist, French, etc.) that He even gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, that whosoever (anyone, anywhere, anytime - while still living) believes (trust in, relies on, clings to, depends completely on) Him shall have eternal (everlasting) life (heaven). #4) Jesus said: "I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, & THE LIFE. No one (male/female - American, Muslim, Jew, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist, Asian, Presbyterian, European, Baptist, Brazilian, Mormons, Methodist, French, etc. ) comes (arrives) to the Father (with GOD in Heaven) EXCEPT BY (through) ME (no other name). *** This wonderful loving GOD gives you the choice - - - (Rev. 3:20) {Please note that church membership, baptism, doing good things, etc. are not requirements for becoming a Christian - however they are great afterwards!!!} *** Jesus said, "Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction (Hell, damnation, eternal punishment), and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life (Heaven, eternal happiness, forever with God), and only a few find it.

D I S C L A I M E R If someone should ask if it's legal to download songs
found on various non-commercial sites, such as this one.

Well, I'm neither a lawyer nor a technician,
and I've begun to wonder if it was legal for
us to tape music off the radio back when
tape recorders first came into being.

And were we committing a crime when we recorded
a movie shown on TV with our VCRs? And was it
really legal to buy a dual-deck recorder for the
express purpose of duplicating cassettes?

My answer to all of the above is, "I don't know."

Nonetheless, here is a formal statement in
some kind of legalize that appears to apply
to this kind of file availability:
