Lawn Mower!!!
.
Soon after my wife and I met, she mentioned how she really wished that she could afford a riding lawnmower. She was a single gal that worked all day and was often tired in the evening when she got home from work.
So, being the handy sort of guy that I was, I made her a riding lawnmower (see below for photo of lawnmower.) I guess I thought she would squeal with delight and give me a big hug.
To this day I have never been able to understand why women are so hard to please.

Don't Go Here!!!
This graphic accentuates how hot it has been across the Southwest. Certainly, the place not to be is Death Valley, Calif., where the temperature has exceeded 125 degrees six days in a row. Death Valley holds the record for the highest temperature ever observed in the United States which was 134 degrees. Tuesday's high of 129 was only 5 degrees shy of that all-time record. For that matter, the world record has been within shouting distance. The hottest ever on the planet was 136 degrees in Libya.

Light and Dark
If you have ever lived in a major city, you have encountered what hasbecome known as "light pollution." Street lamps emit light in alldirections instead of directing it downward where we need it, and thecountless rays from billboards, marquees, and headlights mask the starsand even the clouds in the night sky. These days it seems hard to escapefrom the glow of artificial light that seeps in through closed blinds. Light pollution became such a problem in the Czech Republic that recentlythe government passed a law intended to limit light pollution.
