Oh yeah!! "If it moves and shouldn't, duct tape it. If it doesn't move and should, WD-40 it." But, you forgot one other essential tool: The Swiss Army Knife!!

“Plus ça change, plus c’est la mLme chose” – it’s

how the French say, “The more things change,

the more they remain the same.”

Many of the same situations or problems that we faced in 2005 are still with us as we begin the new year, 2006. The “symptoms” of the ailment, the changing of “Merry Christmas” into “Happy Holidays,” for example, will doubtless be back this year . . . but the ailment, the war against Christianity will continue. The attacks on specific Christian traditions and beliefs will become more vicious, waged primarily in court actions as the advocates of “same-sex marriage,” for example, continue their efforts to eliminate the Judeo-Christian moral principles upon which this nation was founded.

But those are detailed elements of an overall problem of immense proportions . . . they merit our attention, our concern, and our response to them. In dealing with them we must never overlook or ignore the spiritual disaster which already controls approximately half of the world, and is sweeping across Europe, with America in its sights. Barbara Stock in her “War on Terror,” in TheNewMediaJournal.us, summarized it well:

“It is troubling that after America was attacked on her own soil not so long ago, that so many Americans still do not realize the danger of the insidious and relentless enemy that we face. Just as no living thing can escape death, Americans cannot escape the final showdown with radical Islam. It is unfortunate that so many will die because they are afraid to lift the black hood off and see the face of the enemy. Radical Islam has declared war on America and our culture. Radical Islam brought the battle right to our shores and still, many do not believe.

“It is past time for all Americans to look into the eyes of the enemy and recognize this enemy for what it is: evil in its purest form. It is the evil found in the heart of the man who drives a car full of explosives into a crowd of playing children in Iraq and it is found in the heart of a woman who sits down to watch playing children at a wedding and later laments that her bomb malfunctioned. To Americans, this kind of evil is incomprehensible. To the enemy, it is a way of life. Radical Islam has taught them that it is the only route to paradise and no one knows how many of them believe it.”

Barbara Stock is right, and these are the key words: “No one knows how many of them believe it.” But enough of them to make a profound difference in the way of life we have known do believe it, and we American evangelical Christians are literally the front line of offense and the last line of defense. With Barbara Stock’s frightening analysis of the ultimate danger in mind, consider these facts which remain as potential problems in our offense and defense . . .

There is a war on marriage. The Liberals, homosexuals, atheists are devoting their efforts to eliminate traditional marriage which has long been the basis of our American lifestyle. It is well said that the home, the family, is the foundation stone of Western civilization. Destroy that foundation and they have struck a major blow at our way of life. The past year offered some victories and some failures in the ongoing battle. Two more states, Kansas and Texas, voted with overwhelming majorities to approve a marriage amendment, while 4 other states passed measures to put such amendments on the ballot in 2006. In California, a legislative vote to permit same sex marriage was vetoed by Governor Schwarzenegger. In Nebraska, however, a district court declared the voter passed amendment to be unconstitutional. In Massachusetts, the first state to make same-sex marriage legal, the first major step toward putting the marriage amendment on the ballot in 2008 was to have more than 123,000 petition signatures certified, far more than the 65,825 signatures required. But homosexual Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank called the voters “disturbers of the civic peace,” and predicted an angry, divisive fight, in what he termed “a non issue in Massachusetts.” So this battle in this war against Judeo-Christian principles rages on.

There is a war on America’s religious heritage. The Liberals, aided and abetted by the ACLU and similar organizations, are intent on destroying all public displays of the Ten Commandments. Under the leadership of the atheists’ new poster boy, Michael Newdow, they are utilizing the courts in their efforts to remove the words “under God” from the pledge of allegiance to the flag, and the words “In God We Trust” from our currency, while at the same time banning it as our national motto. These attacks on America’s religious heritage are carried on in disregard of the statements by James Madison, known as “the Father of the Constitution” – “We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.” This battle in the ongoing war is aimed at demolishing America’s rich Christian heritage.

There is a war on the Christian faith. The old year ended with a US Navy Chaplain, Gordon Klingenschmitt, on a hunger strike to protest a military ruling that Christian chaplains cannot pray “in the name of Jesus.” No Muslim chaplain has been forbidden to pray in the name of Allah. On the civilian side of life, a Federal District judge in Indiana has banned the use of the name of Jesus Christ in prayers in the state House of Representatives. Judge David Hamilton ruled in a suit brought by the Indiana Civil Liberties Union that “using Christ’s name or title, or referring to a savior” amounts to state endorsement of religion, adding, “Official prayers that endorse Christianity in general violate the Establishment Clause.” In Utah, the group “American Atheists” has filed a suit against the Utah Highway Patrol and the Utah Transportation Department to remove small steel crosses along the state’s highways marking places where state troopers were killed in the line of duty. These attacks also fly in the face of statements of the nation’s founding fathers, such as Patrick Henry, who said, “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

There is a strong anti-religion, anti-Christian media bias. There is an almost never ending list of surveys by various polling and research organizations on the subject of media bias – and virtually without exception, the results are the same: the nation’s media leans predominantly to the left. Tim Groseclose, author of a recent UCLA media bias study commented, “I suspected that many media outlets would tilt to the left … but I was surprised at just how pronounced the distinctions are.” The UCLA study ranked 20 major media outlets, and found that 18 were ranked left of center, with only 2 scoring right of the average US voter. A Pew Research Center report in 2004 concluded that journalists have political and ideological leanings more liberal than those of the general public. Just how much? The Pew report said that just 7% of journalists and news executives call themselves “Conservative,” compared with 33% of the general public. But 34% of journalists and news executives call themselves “Liberals” – or five times as many as the Conservatives.

In the field of military action, an effective and frequently used technique is to soften the enemy before launching the final attack. This technique includes infiltration and weakening the enemy’s defenses – the willingness to fight -- by demoralizing them through propaganda efforts. This is what our enemies have been doing.

A strong, aggressive Christian faith is the main obstacle to the achievement of the Liberals’ goals to make America a mirror image of Europe which is moving toward an Islamic republic of the future. For individual American Christians our part – aside from prayer support of our government – is to adopt New Year’s Resolutions for 2006 to make phone calls ... send emails ... write letters to our Senators and Congress Members to urge them to take the stand we believe to be best for America. To do anything less is to fail our God-given responsibilities.

Quote for this New Year: “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace." -- Eccl. 3:1-8

Howdy,
I can "see" the opportunity
of using the Internet to reach the lost but so few Christians understand
that! I tell people that my time on the computer is Ministry. They just
don't get it. I have had that conviction since the first day I got my computer!

HAVE A HAPPY DAY WITH JESUS!

Lawsuits~~~

The lady that spilled coffee on herself and sued McDonald's is
now suing Walmart. She bought a Dale Earnhardt jacket and
hit the wall four times before she got out the door.

A group of senior citizens were exchanging notes about their ailments.

"My arm is so weak I can hardly hold this coffee cup."

"Yes, I know. My cataracts are so bad I can't see to pour the coffee."

"I can't turn my head because of the arthritis in my neck."

"My blood pressure pills make my dizzy."

"I guess that's the price we pay for getting old."

"Well, it's not all bad. We should be thankful that we can still drive."

YOU THINK GASOLINE IS EXPENSIVE?

Diet Snapple 16oz for $1.29 = $10.32 per gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16oz for $1.19 = $9.52 per gallon
Gatorade 20oz for $1.59 = $10.17 per gallon
Ocean Spray 16oz for $1.25 = $10.00 per gallon
Pint of milk 16oz for $1.59 = $12.72 per gallon
STP Brake Fluid 12oz for $3.15 = $33.60 per gallon
Vick's Nyquil 6oz for $8.35 = $178.13 per gallon
Pepto Bismol 4oz for $3.85 = $123.20 per gallon
Whiteout 7oz for $1.39 = $25.42 per gallon
Scope 1.5oz for $0.99 = $84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER......
Evian water 9oz for $1.49 = $21.19 per gallon
.....$21.19 FOR WATER!!

So next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't
run on Nyquil, or Scope, or Whiteout!!!!

The oldest commercially marketed carbonated drink is Moxie, which
became available in apothecaries as a medical tonic in 1876. Made by
the Nerve Food Company of Lowell, Massachusetts, Moxie was first sold
as a beverage in 1884. (Hires Root Beer was also introduced in 1876.)

Moxie has an odd flavor that has been described as a combination of
cola, root beer, and licorice. The first version contained
wintergreen as well as a bitter-sweet herb, root gentian. According
to those who like it, it is definitely an acquired taste.

Moxie was also the first carbonated beverage to offer a sugar-free
version. The potent brew with its distinctive orange labels is still
available in Maine, where it is something of a local classic.

Moxie is one of the favorite drinks at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine...

Verse of the Day

* * * Four important things to KNOW: #1) For ALL (Americans, Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Hindus, Buddhist, Asians, Presbyterians, Europeans, Baptist, Brazilians, Mormons, Methodist, French, etc.) have sinned & fall short of the glory of God. #2) For the wages of above (see #1) are DEATH (Hell, eternal separation from God, & damnation) but the Gift (free & at no charge to you) of God (Creator, Jehovah, & Trinity) is Eternal Life (Heaven) through (in union with) Jesus Christ (God, Lord, 2nd Person of The Trinity, Messiah, Prince of Peace & Savior of the World). #3) For God so greatly loved & dearly prized the world (Americans, Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Hindus, Buddhist, Asians, Presbyterians, Europeans, Baptist, Brazilians, Mormons, Methodist, French, etc.) that He even gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, that whosoever (anyone, anywhere, anytime - while still living) believes (trust in, relies on, clings to, depends completely on) Him shall have eternal (everlasting) life (heaven). #4) Jesus said: "I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, & THE LIFE. No one (male/female - American, Muslim, Jew, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist, Asian, Presbyterian, European, Baptist, Brazilian, Mormons, Methodist, French, etc. ) comes (arrives) to the Father (with GOD in Heaven) EXCEPT BY (through) ME (no other name). *** This wonderful loving GOD gives you the choice - - - (Rev. 3:20) {Please note that church membership, baptism, doing good things, etc. are not requirements for becoming a Christian - however they are great afterwards!!!} *** Jesus said, "Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction (Hell, damnation, eternal punishment), and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life (Heaven, eternal happiness, forever with God), and only a few find it.

D I S C L A I M E R If someone should ask if it's legal to download songs
found on various non-commercial sites, such as this one.

Well, I'm neither a lawyer nor a technician,
and I've begun to wonder if it was legal for
us to tape music off the radio back when
tape recorders first came into being.

And were we committing a crime when we recorded
a movie shown on TV with our VCRs? And was it
really legal to buy a dual-deck recorder for the
express purpose of duplicating cassettes?

My answer to all of the above is, "I don't know."

Nonetheless, here is a formal statement in
some kind of legalize that appears to apply
to this kind of file availability:
