Are there any words that only exist in the plural form?
There are quite a few words that fall into this category. Names of instruments: bellows, binoculars, forceps, gallows, glasses, pliers, scissors, shears, tongs. Names of articles of dress: braces, briefs, flannels, jeans, knickers, pyjamas, shorts, pants, tights, trousers.
There is also the more difficult category of words ending in -ics which may or may not govern a plural verb. Such words used strictly for the name of a subject are regarded as singular: Economics, Ethics. Compare heroics, hysterics.

well! I think that all nouns which can not be single in real life will always stay in plural form. Pants, 4 example, you can't wear a pants with only one leg unless you wanna make joke.
If I recall correctly, pants were originally used to protect the inner leg while riding a horse (or other beast of burden), and the two pants were "put on one pant at a time." Which would make the word "pant" archaic but not non-existant.
