If you stop believing what your professor told you
had to be true and if you start thinking for yourself
you may come to some conclusions you hadn't
expected. You may find the Bible makes more
sense than you thought or were told to think.
Allow yourself to be ruined, ruined with regard
to what you always thought could be true. Can
you believe what you don't understand? You
and I believe everyday what we don't understand
unless it comes to the issue to salvation.

Well stated GR...

I couldn't have said any better...

Keep on keeping on, Howdy!!!

God bless you!!!

Dear Howdy,

This is pretty interesting!

Never doubt the Word of God!!!

Make a personal reflection about this. Very interesting, read until the end...

It is written in the Bible (Gelatins 6:7):

" Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Here are some men and women who mocked God:

JOHN LENNON:

Some years before during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:

"Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, Today we are more famous than Him" (1966).

Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

TANCREDO NEVES (President of Brazil):

During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency. Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

CAZUZA (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):

During a show in Canecão ( Rio de Janeiro ), whilst smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: "God, that's for you."

He died at the age of 32 of AIDS in a horrible manner.

THE MAN WHO BUILT TITANIC:

After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: "Not even God can sink it"

The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic.

MARILYN MONROE:

She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He is a preacher and Evangelist and the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.

After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:

"I don't need your Jesus"

A week later, she was found dead in her apartment.

BON SCOTT:

The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:

"Don't stop me, I'm going down all the way, wow the highway to

hell".

On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his vomit.

CAMPINAS/SP IN 2005

In Campinas, Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend. The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter - holding her hand, who was already seated in the car: "MY DAUGHTER, GO WITH GOD AND MAY HE PROTECT YOU",

She responded: ONLY IF HE (GOD) TRAVELS IN THE BOOT, COZ INSI DE HERE IT'S ALREADY FULL"

Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died, the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the boot was intact.

The police said there was no way the boot could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the boot was a crate of eggs, none was broken.

Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus. Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive. JESUS!!!

P.S: If it was a joke, you could have sent it to everyone. So are you going to have courage to send this?. I have done my part, Jesus said "If you get embarrassed about me, I will also get embarrassed about you before my father."

What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? What can man give in exchange of his soul? (Matthew 16:26)

God promised that the Messiah, who would redeem mankind from Satans power
and sins penalty, would be a virgin-born Jew (Gn 3:15; 12:3; Is 7:14; 9:6,
etc.) who would reign forever on King Davids throne in Jerusalem. To defeat
God, Satan must inspire the annihilation of the Jews. Anti-Semitism, the
satanically inspired persecution and slaughter of Jews like no other people
all through history, was foretold in the Bible (Dt 28:37, Jer 29:17-19,
etc.).

Romes destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70 (1.2 million killed) was followed
in A.D. 135 with 985 towns wiped out and 580,000 slain. The situation eased
under some Caesars, worsened under others. Constantine (280-337) briefly
granted Judaism equal status with other religions -- but after becoming a
"Christian," he oppressed the Jews. Succeeding Roman emperors continued the
persecution.

The popes, successors to the Roman emperors, continued the oppression.
Inspired by Pope Urban II (1096), Crusaders murdered Jews all along their
route and in taking the Holy Land. Church Councils such as Vienna (1311),
Zamora (1313) and Basel (1431-33) strengthened anti-Semitism as official
Roman Catholic doctrine. More than 100 anti-Semitic Church documents were
published between the sixth and twentieth centuries.

During the Church-dominated Middle Ages, Jews were driven out of nearly
every European nation including England. Where could they go with no country
of their own? Somehow, they clung to life, confined to ghettos.

Islams founder, Muhammad (570-632), killed every Jew in Arabia except for
the few who escaped. In North African and Middle Eastern countries,
following the Muslim conquest in the seventh century, there was endless
brutalization, pillaging and massacre of Jews.

As the Romans had done with Jerusalem in A.D. 135, any city designated a
"holy city of Islam," such as Kairouan in Tunisia in the thirteenth century,
was made Jew-free.1 What Islam modeled was repeated in Nazi Germany as one
village or city after another was declared Judenfrei.

In the German elections of May 1928, the Nazi party, aided by Vatican funds
given to Hitler by Cardinal Eugenio Pacelli (who later became Pope Pius
XII), gained its first twelve seats in the Reichstag. From that time a reign
of terror spread across Germany that would enslave Europe. On January1,
1930, Hitlers Stormtrooper terrorists killed eight Jews, the first victims
of the Nazi era. "Jews were molested in public places, and synagogue
services were constantly interrupted...."2 In the 1930 elections, with
Hitlers "Brownshirts" intimidating voters, the Nazi seats rose from 12 to
107.

On January 30, 1933, a political com-promise made Hitler, then 43, Germanys
Chancellor. He swiftly established a Nazi dictatorship with no dissent
allowed. Mein Kampf had promised an end to the Jews, who were now beaten in
the streets, their stores looted, then boycotted.

The reaction outside Germany was brief and muted. Mass rallies were held in
New Yorks Madison Square Garden, Pariss Trocadero and Londons Queen Hall to
protest Germanys growing anti-Jewish pogroms. But an uncaring world turned a
blind eye to the Holocaust, which still haunts all who have a conscience.

By 1934 the campaign to create "Jew-free" villages was spreading. Jews were
driven out of all professions and education. In the growing terrorism,
Stormtroopers would enter a village, smash and loot Jewish shops, trample
the Torah in the synagogue, and assault and kill Jews in the streets.
Frightened and bewildered Jews fled to neighboring towns, only to be
expelled again -- and eventually taken to extermination camps.

For centuries, Jews had been fleeing Europe to return to their ancient land.
There, in the 1920s and 30s, funded by the Nazis3 and aided by the British
"peace-keepers," anti-Jewish riots were led by Haj Amin al-Husseini,4 Grand
Mufti of Jerusalem, terrorist, friend and admirer of Hitler and Himmler --
Arafats great uncle, mentor and model. The Mufti, to whom Hitler on Nov. 21,
1941, promised "a solution for the Jewish problem"5 similar to what he was
pursuing in Germany, was "personally responsible for the concentration camp
slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Jews...."6

During World War II, Haj Amin fled to Berlin, from which place he broadcast,
"Arabs rise as one man and slaughter the Jews wherever you find them. This
pleases Allah...." Jews fought on the side of the Allies; the Arabs joined
Hitler. As a reward he promised to exterminate the Jews in their countries
as he was doing in Europe. But in February 1945, when Allied victory was
certain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Lebanon declared war on Germany --
an act required before March 1, 1945, by any country that desired to join
the newly organized United Nations.

On Nov. 29, 1947, after 6 million Jews had perished, a briefly
conscience-stricken UN, in Res. 181, gave them 18 percent of the ancient
land of Israel, misnamed "Palestine," all of which the League of Nations,
recognizing its "historical connection [to] the Jewish people," had allotted
for their national homeland. The Mandate for Palestine, July 24, 1922, 7 was
to be administered by Britain under the Balfour Declaration.

Unhappy with being given 82 percent of what the world had admitted belonged
to the Jews (and demanding it all), "employing outside forces and arms from
Arab states as distant as Iraq,"8 Arabs rioted, plundered and murdered Jews,
encouraged by the British, who were hoping for an excuse to abandon their
mandate to establish the Jewish homeland.9 Britains betrayal of the Jews,
beginning in the 1920s in favor of the oil-rich Arabs, brought about the end
of its empire on which the sun "never sank" -- another fulfillment of Gods
warning, "I will curse him that curseth thee" (Gn 12:3).

Something worse than Nazism was rising -- an Arab religion called Islam,
which centuries before had forcefully conquered most of the world. This time
its monopoly of oil was its major weapon. When Israel declared its
independence in May 1948, it was instantly attacked by the regular armies of
six Muslim nations, whose leaders publicly vowed to annihilate every Jew.
Azzam Pasha, Secretary-General of the Arab League, promised, "This will be a
war of extermination...."10 "Palestine," like Arabia, was to be made
Jew-free.

Muslim leaders, both political and religious, more openly than Hitler,
repeatedly call for the extermination of all Jews (see Q&A, May 2002). Islam
requires the death of all Jews before its "Last Day" judgment can occur. On
November 23, 1937, Saudi Arabias King Ibn Saud said, "for a Muslim to kill a
Jew...ensures him an immediate entry into Heaven...." 11 PLO leader Farouk
Kaddoumi vowed, "This Zionist ghetto of Israel must be destroyed."12
Palestinians marching in support of Saddam Husseins invasion of Kuwait
chanted, "Saddam, you hero, attack Israel with chemical weapons."13

An Arabic translation of Mein Kampf is a bestseller today in Palestinian
Authority territory. 14 Textbooks in Syria lead pupils to the "inevitable
conclusion...that all Jews must be annihilated." 15 Calls for annihilation
of Jews still resound throughout the Muslim world, such as the Friday sermon
in Gazas Zayed bin Sultan Aal Nahyan mosque, October 14, 2000, by Ahmad
AbuHalabia: "The Jews...must be butchered....Have no mercy...kill them...and
those Americans who...established Israel here, in the beating heart of the
Arab world...."16 Sheikh Ibrahim Mahdi vowed in a sermon on Palestinian
television June 8, 2001, "Allah willing...Israel will be erased...the United
States will be erased...Britain will be erased....Blessings to whoever put a
belt of explosives on his body or on his sons and plunged into the midst of
the Jews...."

Incredibly, Zionism (the belief that Jews have a right to their national
homeland) was condemned as racism by UN General Assembly Res. 3379 on
November 10, 1975. Sixteen long years later (12/16/91) that vote was
reversed over Muslim protests. Yet Zionism is still a capital crime in Iraq.

Few, whether Jews or their enemies, acknowledge that the Middle East
conflict involves the "last days" reestablishment of Gods chosen people in
the land He promised to them. Todays events were foretold in biblical
prophecies that validate the Bible beyond dispute as Gods Word. As
prophesied, Israel has become what President Eisenhower called "the most
strategically important area in the world."

When it became a nation once again, about 800,000 Jews (nearly double the
number of original "Palestinian" refugees) fled to Israel from the horror
they had long endured in Muslim countries. Here is the tally of Jews in
various countries in 1948 and today: Algeria 140,000/75; Egypt 75,000/200;
Iraq 150,000/100; Lebanon 20,000/50; Libya 38,000/none; Morocco
265,000/5,800; Syria 30,000/150; Tunisia 105,000/1,500; Yemen and Aden
63,000/150, etc. Following the Six-day War (1967), the UN Security Council
determined to investigate the treatment of Jews in Arab countries. Syria,
Iraq and Egypt, however, refused to allow entrance of the investigative
commission. 17

We now look back with disbelief and shame upon the Nazi era and the barbaric
determination to exterminate a race. In contrast, the Islamic world looks
back with approval. Their only regret today is that Hitler didnt finish his
intended annihilation of all Jews. As Egyptian newspaper columnist Ahmad
Ragab wrote, "Thanks to Hitler, blessed memory....Although we do have a
complaint...his revenge on [the Jews] was not enough."18

At the same time, much of the Muslim world denies the Holocaust. As
University of Gaza history lecturer Dr. Issam Sissalem declared: "...they
are all lies...no Dachau, no Auschwitz!...the holocaust was against our
people...."19

"God created man in his own image" (Gn 1:26,27) with the capacity to choose
whether to love and obey God or to rebel against Him. God desires our
willing obedience in love; but love cannot be forced. Liberty to choose is
essential for love. Seeking to win mans heart, God pleads, "Come now, and
let us reason together" (Is 1:18).

In contrast, Satan enslaved man with lies. "Whosoever committeth sin is the
servant of sin" (Jn 8:34). Tyrants enslave their fellows. The worst offense
of the Caesars, the popes, the Muhammads and Hitlers and all who still
follow their example is not the enslavement of flesh and blood but the
tyrannical attempt to conquer the human soul and spirit. There is no
reasoning with tyrants.

There is not one Muslim country today where basic God-given liberties are
enjoyed. Saudi Arabia abstained from the International Declaration of Human
Rights adopted 12/10/48 by the UN. An Islamic Declaration of Human Rights
was adopted by Muslim nations on 9/19/81. The "rights" it offers are all
according to Sharia (Islamic Law exactly as the Taliban practiced it) and
the Sunnah (the example and way of life of the Prophet...). 20

Saudi Arabia, Islams Holy Land, has accomplished what Nazi Germany aimed
for: a Jew-free country. In obedience to Islams founding prophet, Muhammad,
no Jew is allowed in Saudi Arabia and only Muslims can be citizens. This is
Nazism resurrected! There should be an international cry of outrage! Yet
there is silence.

Any question as to whether the hijackers, the Taliban and suicide bombers
are fanatics or real Muslims is easily dispelled -- as is the delusion
spread that Islam "is peace and tolerance." One need only look at Saudi
Arabia. There stands Islams holiest site, the Kaaba in Mecca, to which each
Muslim must make a pilgrimage (hajj) once in his lifetime. There Islam
began, is headquartered and demonstrated.

In Saudi Arabia one may see what daily life would be like in America and
Europe if Islam could fulfill its goal of taking over the world. A woman
cannot drive a car or even leave her house without her husbands permission
and a male relative to escort her. No non-Muslim place of worship or any
public expression that does not agree with Islam is allowed. To question
Islam is a crime, and for a Muslim to convert to any other religion carries
the death penalty.

This is not "fanaticism." It is Islam. Muhammad said, "Whoever relinquishes
his faith, kill him." Upon Muhammads death, thousands of Arabs attempted to
abandon Islam, into which they had been forced by the sword. In the "Wars of
Apostasy" tens of thousands of former Muslims, all Arabs, were killed in
bringing Arabia back under Islam.

All Muslims ought to be ashamed! The leadership of Saudi Arabia ought to be
ashamed! How can Muslim countries sit in the United Nations and talk of
freedom when they wont allow it? How can Muslims take advantage of the
liberties in the free world to build their mosques and worship freely, to
speak out against any who disagree with them, while knowing in their hearts
that the religion they promote would suppress those very liberties if it
took over?! This is hypocrisy of the highest order!

For years there has been an ongoing holocaust in Muslim countries. More than
2 million non-Muslims, mostly Christians, have been killed in Indonesia,
Nigeria, Sudan, and elsewhere, with hundreds of churches destroyed. Must we
wait until this Islamic holocaust reaches 6 million? There ought to be an
immediate international cry of outrage and revulsion! (Dave Hunt - Author)

Rage at Drawings Spreads in Muslim World

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) - Armed militants angered by a cartoon drawing of the Prophet Muhammad published in European newspapers surrounded EU offices in Gaza on Thursday and threatened to kidnap foreigners as outrage over the caricatures spread across the Islamic world.

More than 300 students demonstrated in Pakistan, chanting "Death to France!" and "Death to Denmark!" - two of the countries where newspapers published the drawings. Other protests were held in Syria and Lebanon, while officials in Afghanistan, Iran and Indonesia condemned the publication. In Paris, the daily France Soir fired its managing editor after it ran the caricatures Wednesday.

A Jordanian newspaper took the bold step of running some of the drawings, saying it wanted to show its readers how offensive the cartoons were, although its editor also said he did not want "to promote such blasphemy." In an editorial, it also urged the world's Muslims to "be reasonable."

Foreign journalists, diplomats and aid workers began leaving Gaza as gunmen there threatened to kidnap citizens of France, Norway, Denmark and Germany unless those governments apologize for the cartoon.

Gunmen in the West Bank city of Nablus entered four hotels to search for foreigners to abduct and warned their owners not to host guests from several European countries. Gunmen said they were also searching apartments in Nablus for Europeans.

Militants in Gaza said they would shut down media offices from France, Norway, Denmark and Germany, singling out the French news agency Agence France Presse.

"Any citizens of these countries, who are present in Gaza, will put themselves in danger," a Fatah-affiliated gunman said outside the EU Commission's office in Gaza, flanked by two masked men holding rifles.

If the European governments don't apologize by Thursday evening, "any visitor of these countries will be targeted," he said.

The furor over the drawings, which first ran in the Danish paper Jyllands-Posten in September, cuts to the question of which is more sacred in the Western world - freedom of expression or respect for religious beliefs. The cartoons include an image of Muhammad wearing a turban shaped as a bomb with a burning fuse.

Islamic law, based on clerics' interpretation of the Quran and the sayings of the prophet, absolutely forbids depictions, even positive ones, of the Prophet Muhammad in order to prevent idolatry.

The drawings have prompted boycotts of Danish goods, bomb threats and demonstrations against Danish facilities.

The Danish newspaper defended its decision to publish the caricatures, citing freedom of expression, but apologized to Muslims for causing offense.

France Soir and several other European papers reprinted the drawings in solidarity with the Danish daily. Jyllands-Posten also had put some of the drawings briefly on its Web site, and the images still can be found elsewhere on the Internet.

The Israeli newspaper Maariv published a tiny version of the Muhammad-bomb caricature Thursday, on page 16.

Foreign journalists were pulling out of Gaza on Thursday, and foreign media organizations were canceling plans to send more people in.

Norway suspended operations at its office in the West Bank town of Ram after receiving threats connected to publication of the cartoons by the Norwegian Christian newspaper Magazinet.

"There were threats from two Palestinian groups, the Popular Resistance Committees and the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, against Danish, French and Norwegian diplomats," Norwegian Foreign Ministry spokesman Rune Bjaastad said.

Jan Pirouz Poulsen, the Danish representative office's deputy head, said there were six Danes in Gaza and about 20 in the West Bank, and that all had been urged to leave.

Raif Holmboe, the head of Denmark's representative office in the West Bank town of Ramallah, said the office would be closed Friday and no decision has been made whether to reopen Monday. Holmboe said shots were fired at the Ramallah office earlier this week while the building was empty. No one was hurt.

Palestinian security officials said they would try to protect foreigners in Gaza, but police have largely been unable to do so in the past, with 19 foreigners kidnapped - and released unharmed - in recent months, mostly by Fatah gunmen.

Emma Udwin, a European Union spokeswoman in Brussels, said security measures have been taken in light of the threats.

Outgoing Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia condemned the caricatures, saying they "provoke all Muslims everywhere in the world." He asked gunmen not to attack foreigners, "but we warn that emotions may flare in this very sensitive issues."

Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for the Islamic militant Hamas also demanded an apology from European countries. However, he said foreigners in Gaza must not be harmed.

Thursday's events began when a dozen gunmen with ties to Fatah approached the office of the EU Commission in Gaza. Three jumped on the outer wall and the rest took up positions at the entrance. The group demanded the apologies and urged Palestinians to boycott the products of Norway, Denmark, France and Germany.

A leaflet signed by a Fatah militia and the militant Islamic Jihad group said the EU office and churches in Gaza could come under attack and urged French citizens to leave Gaza. The gunmen left after about 45 minutes. Palestinian employees of the EU Commission had not come to work Thursday, and foreigners working at the office are based outside Gaza, and only visit from time to time.

In Multan, Pakistan, more than 300 Islamic students chanted "Death to Denmark!" and "Death to France!" and burned flags of both countries near an Islamic school.

Iraqi Islamic leaders called for demonstrations from Baghdad to the southern city of Basra following prayer services Friday.

Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai condemned the images, calling the publication an "insult ... to more than 1 billion Muslims."

Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesman Yuri Thamrin said that while his country upholds free expression, "such freedom cannot be used as a pretext to insult a religion." The Indonesian newspaper Rakyat Merdeka put the Muhammad-bomb caricature on its Web site to illustrate its story about the uproar but covered his eyes with a red banner to avoid making the image "vulgar," a caption said.

Iran summoned Austrian Ambassador Stigel Bauer, representing the European Union, to protest the publication, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported. Bauer expressed "sorrow" and promised to convey Iran's protest to his government and other EU countries, IRNA said.

The Jordanian newspaper Shihan ran three of the caricatures, saying it was reprinting them to show readers "the extent of the Danish offense." Next to the drawings, the weekly said: "This is how the Danish newspaper portrayed Prophet Muhammad, may God's blessing and peace be upon him."

Shihan's editor-in-chief, Jihad al-Momani, told The Associated Press that he decided to run the cartoons to "display to the public the extent of the Danish offense and condemn it in the strongest terms."

"But their publication is not meant in any way to promote such blasphemy," al-Momani added.

An editorial signed by al-Momani and titled "Muslims of the world, be reasonable," questioned what sparked the outrage now, since the cartoons were first published in September. It said the Danish paper had apologized, "but for some reason, nobody in the Muslim world wants to hear the apology."

Morocco and Tunisia barred sales of France Soir's Wednesday issue.

The director of media rights group Reporters Without Borders, Robert Menard, called for calm. "We need to figure out how to reconcile freedom of expression and respect of faith," he said.

Vebjoern Selbekk, editor of Norway's Magazinet newspaper, said he had received thousands of hate e-mails, including 20 death threats, since printing the drawings and was under police protection.

Dear Howdy,

If one does a Google "Images" search on the following:

1) Muslim Riots - 184 pictures

2) Christian Riots - 231 pictures

The Muslim riots are overwhelmingly (exception: Hindu riots
against Muslims) riots against others but in the Christian riots
it is mostly AGAINST Christians.

Which is the religion of peace???

Dear Howdy,

The Holocaust had begun to feel like ancient history, but the urgent new focus on the Middle East reminds us all how virulent anti-Semitism lives as a force in the world. Just as the Nazis forged a militant fanatical hatred of Jews, Islamic fanatics have forged a modern theory of hatred, illustrated by similar Nazi-like depictions of Jews. In "Peace: The Arabian Caricature: A Study of Anti-Semitic Imagery," Arieh Stav, director of the Ariel Center for Policy Research in Tel Aviv, documents the vicious anti-Semitic cartoons that proliferate in the Arab world with public and official endorsement. Historically, these caricatures are not unique to the Arab world, but what this book makes clear is that in the Middle East today they are commonplace, generating stereotypes of evil, fusing anti-Semitism with anti-Zionism. In the present crisis, the portrait of the Jew in the Middle East emerges as an ugly and perverse mix of theological, moral, racial, social and political negatives. If you think these images are pushed only by the usual suspects, such as Syria and Iraq, think again. They proliferate across the spectrum of our so-called allies in the coalition, including Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. These caricatures are all the more powerful because they're graphically dramatic and symbolic in countries where many people cannot read. Jews were forced to wear a yellow patch with a six-pointed star in "sophisticated" Europe, identifying them as vermin that had to be exterminated. In the Middle East, the Jews of Israel are caricatured as snakes and cockroaches, to be similarly annihilated. Eastern European Jews were frequently described in metaphors of disease, to be eliminated lest they infect the larger society. Jews in the Middle East are described as a cancer in the body of the Arab world, a malignant tumor that must be surgically removed. Stav's book, written two years ago, illustrates how popular cartoons generate violent attitudes toward Israel in general and Jews in particular. Just as in Germany, where Jews over the years sometimes earned reprieve from prejudice, Jews have enjoyed occasional protection from Muslim rulers in the past. But it's naive to think that anti-Semitism isn't a driving force of modern Islamist terrorism. One of the stubborn rumors that circulated among Muslims immediately after Sept. 11 (and among certain other Israel-bashers) was that the airplane attacks were initiated by Mossad, the Israeli secret service. The rumor was accompanied by the kind of lie that lent both specificity and credibility, that 4,000 Jews who worked in the World Trade Center were warned not to show up for work, and escaped the catastrophe. The rumor was quickly squelched in this country when many of the dead and missing were identified as Jews. But the rumor has the legs of "unshakable truth" for Muslims in the streets of Cairo, Jerusalem, Riyadh, even London. More than half a century ago, anti-Semitism was indelibly imbedded in the psyche of the Third Reich, which led inexorably to the Holocaust. But in recent years, the Germans have worked tirelessly to document that terrible past and its government has spoken out boldly about the threat of Islamist terrorism. Many Germans are humiliated that they unwittingly gave shelter to several of the terrorists who flew the death planes. When Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder returned home after meeting George Bush in Washington this month after surveying the destruction of the terrorists, he suggested that Germany is now prepared to enter a new phase in its post-World War II history, to send its army abroad "in defense of freedom and human rights." This is not likely to thrill millions of Europeans, but it shows where German sentiment lies. He expressed the "unreserved solidarity" of his government behind the United States. He has endured criticism from the Green Party's pacifist wing and part of his coalition, which has demanded a pause in the bombing of Afghanistan. Many of the Greens, however, including Joschka Fischer, the German foreign secretary, remain mindful not only of the free world's vulnerability to the terrorists if they are not stopped, but of the terrible treatment women, children and minorities suffer daily at the hands of the Taliban. These Germans have learned from their country's history and rediscovered a conscious awareness that both words and deeds are needed to fight against evil. They remind us all that this is no time to be a passive bystander.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that." -Martin Luther King Jr. Muslims ever alert to any perceived slight to their culture or religion have taken yet another hostage in what appears to be a concerted assault on freedom of speech. This time the fallen is acclaimed playwright/director Glyn O'Malley for the offense of writing "Paradise," a 50-minute play about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict aimed at high school audiences. The play was inspired by the story of 18-year-old Palestinian suicide bomber Ayat al-Akhras, who blew herself up last year in Jerusalem, killing among others a 17-year-old Israeli girl, Rachel Levy. The two young women, who were pictured together in hundreds of newspapers and on magazine covers, could have been sisters. In the human family, they were. They also were equal victims in a war surely neither of them inspired or understood. That was the message O'Malley says he had hoped to convey. He wasn't trying to make a political point, but to humanize the people in this ongoing conflict. "I have tried to open it up ... and show forces apart from religious ones that any human can identify with: despair, loss, anger." Instead O'Malley, in what has become a modus operandi for certain Muslim groups, has been vilified, verbally assaulted, called a racist, and made to wonder whether his life might be in danger. His attackers called the play "poison" and said it would do more damage than an F16 fighter-bomber; they also equated suicide bombing to "Give me liberty or give me death." In a telephone interview Monday from his home in New York, O'Malley said he was "amazed" by the onslaught, especially because some of his attackers were invited guests to a reading of an early draft of the play. Sensitive to Muslim sensitivity, O'Malley and others from the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, which commissioned the play, had invited diverse members of the Cincinnati community to comment in advance of final draft, including a local rabbi, a professor of Islamic history, and Majed Dabdoub, a structural engineer who brought along 10 other Muslims. "We understand there are sensitivities and want to make sure no one is unreasonably hurt," said O'Malley. "I flew in expecting dialogue. I had everything thrown at me. ... It was extremely charged." And, of course, "They were effective," said O'Malley. "They stopped the play." At least the high school tour has been stopped. The Playhouse is planning a free public reading on Feb. 18. Such censorship and intimidation are unfamiliar to artists and writers in this country. But so go the rules lately when it comes to anything Muslim. Regular readers of this column will recall that political cartoonist Doug Marlette recently was on the receiving end of a similar assault organized by the Council on American-Islamic Relations. My own columns have appeared on CAIR's "Incitement Alert" list, as doubtless this one will. Such exaggerated reactions to cartoons, columns and now a play suggest that what we're experiencing isn't so much a misunderstanding as a clash of fundamental values. Simply put, Americans subscribe to and thrive in an environment of openness ratified by laws guaranteeing individual liberty and freedom of expression. Our nation was founded on such principles, and we've spent a couple of centuries fine-tuning them. Apparently some Muslims in the United States, regardless of their testimonials to the contrary, do not yet share this heritage. Islam's authoritarian culture did not produce the geniuses who participated in the great freedom debates of 1776. All Americans, regardless of their faith or political persuasion, get to inherit the freedoms that are permitted because of our beloved First Amendment. Sadly, some Muslims apparently don't get it. As Marlette put it in a recent e-mail: "They have the know-how without the know-why." They adopt only as much of American culture as suits their purposes -our freedom to protest, for example -without embracing what makes it possible. Some Muslims say they worry that plays such as O'Malley's deal in stereotypes and invite racism. But as Ed Stern, the play's producing artistic director, points out, racism is born of ignorance and ignorance thrives in the shadows. "This play was shedding light on people, on the fact that we're all human beings. ... In Glyn's play there are no heroes or villains, just flawed human beings trying to figure out how to survive. Now that it isn't being seen, we're taking the lights off again, putting everything back in the shadows." Curtain.

Danes Unrepentant Over Muhammad Cartoons

An editor with the Danish newspaper that ran cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad said the resultant furor was "worth it."

Joern Mikkelsen, political editor of the conservative paper Jyllands-Posten, said the still-raging debate over who is or isn't entitled to criticize a religion only served to further legitimize the paper's decision to run the cartoons.

The cartoons, first published four months ago in Denmark, included one showing Muhammad wearing a turban shaped as a bomb with a lit fuse.

Islamic tradition bars any depiction of the prophet, favorable or otherwise.

The republication of the cartoons in a Norwegian publication on January 10 touched off a storm of protest in the Islamic world. Danish products were boycotted in Arab countries and protesters burned the Danish flag.

Jyllands-Posten's office in Aarhus, Denmark's second-largest city, received bomb threats and its employees were flooded with death threats by phone and mail.

But when the German magazine Der Spiegel asked Mikkelsen if publishing the cartoons was worth the controversy, he replied: "Yes, it was worth it."

Tage Clausen, a spokesman for the paper, said it did not intend to anger Muslims by running the cartoons. "Instead we wanted to show how deeply entrenched self-censorship has already become."

Other Danes who spoke with Der Spiegel in Aarhus supported the publication of the cartoons.

"I can't imagine living in a country where I am no longer allowed to voice my free opinion," said Eminie Ehlers.

Tonni Soerensen, pointing out that Denmark has welcomed many Muslims, said: "The Muslim reaction was exaggerated in the extreme. When these imams go around telling everybody how bad we are, it's like a stab in the back."

And Anne Grethe declared: "If [Muslim immigrants] don't agree with freedom of the press, then they should go back home."

You could call them the caricatures that shook the world.

It began a week ago when Denmark's Jyllands-Posten asked cartoonists in September to create some satirical drawings of Muhammad because the country’s media was self-conscious about criticisms of Islamic terrorism.

In the last week, other European papers picked up and published the cartoons and the result has been unprecedented rioting throughout the Islamic world.

Thousands of Syrians yesterday took to the streets and torched the Danish and Norwegian embassies in Damascus in the most violent protests by Muslims in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

The rioters in Damascus began by throwing stones at the Danish Embassy. They broke through police barricades then set a fire in the building.

"With our blood and souls we defend you, O Prophet of God!" the demonstrators chanted. Some removed the Danish flag and replaced it with a green flag printed with the words: "There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah."

The riots moved on to the Norwegian Embassy about 4 miles away. They set fire to the building before dispersed by police using tear gas and water cannons. Hundreds of police and troops barricaded the road leading to the French Embassy, but protesters were able to break through briefly before fleeing from the force of water cannons.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, Palestinians stormed European buildings and burned German and Danish flags. Protesters smashed the windows of the German cultural center and threw stones at the European Commission building. A leader of Hamas called the caricatures “an unforgivable insult” that merited death.

There were peaceful rallies against the cartoons in Iraq where hundreds demanded an apology from the European Union.

The foreign ministries of both Denmark and Norway advised their citizens to leave Syria without delay.

"It's horrible and totally unacceptable," Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moeller said on Danish public television.

In the West Bank town of Hebron, about 50 Palestinians marched to the headquarters of the international observer mission there, burned a Danish flag and demanded a boycott of Danish goods.

A South African court banned the country's Sunday newspapers from reprinting the cartoons.

Iran's president ordered his commerce minister to study canceling all trade contracts with European countries whose newspapers have published the caricatures, the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the caricatures showed the "impudence and rudeness" of Western newspapers against the prophet as well as the "maximum resentment of the Zionists (Jews) ruling these countries against Islam and Muslims."

REVEALED, (from at ad) at long last: the whole "politically incorrect" truth about Islam's violent teachings, bloody history, backward culture, and morally depraved founder

The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)
by Robert Spencer

Exclusive hardcover edition -- not available in stores!

When PC propagandists assure us that jihadist terror doesn't reflect "true," "peaceful" Islam, they're not only wrong, they're dangerous -- because they lull America and the West into letting their guard down against their mortal enemy. And not only do self-appointed "experts" lie elaborately and persistently about Islam -- they have also replaced the truth about Christian Europe and the Crusades with an all-pervasive historical fantasy that is designed to make you ashamed of your own culture and heritage -- and thus less determined to defend it. But now there's a remedy: in The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades), Robert Spencer reveals all the disturbing facts about Islam and its murderous hostility to the West that other books ignore, soft-pedal -- or simply lie about.

This book is a unique guide to the bloody teachings and history of Islam, and to the Crusades that still stand today as the Western world's most sustained and successful defense against the warrior hordes who were inspired by those teachings. Exposing myth after myth of the "Islam means peace" establishment, Spencer (director of JihadWatch.com and the bestselling author of Islam Unveiled and Onward Muslim Soldiers) here tackles all the hot-button issues regarding Islam and the Crusades.

Not "politically correct" -- just true:

* The Crusades: unprovoked Western aggression? How, in fact, Muslims armies overran the predominantly Christian Middle East, then drove deep into Europe long before any Crusade was even contemplated -- and did so in obedience to core teachings of the Islamic faith

* How the much-ballyhooed (and grossly exaggerated) "Golden Age" of Islamic culture was largely inspired by non-Muslims

* Muhammed: the "Perfect Man"? That's how Muslims regard him. Details about his licentiousness, cruelty, and ruthless ambition that make him a dangerous role model

* Muhammad as "Prophet": how he received convenient "revelations" that justified his insatiable lusts and numerous marriages -- including one to a 9-year-old girl

* How Muhammad ordered -- and rejoiced in -- the assassinations of his enemies. How he lied and broke treaties as a matter of course

* Muhammad vs. Jesus: proof that Christianity teaches peace and Islam violence -- and that there is nothing in the Bible that rivals the Qur'an's exhortations to warfare

* The stifling effect Islam has on science and free inquiry, accounting for its failure to prosper -- and hence for its murderous envy of the West

* The ghastly lure of Islam's X-rated Paradise for suicide bombers and jihad terrorists

* Islamic law: how it institutionalizes oppression of Christians, Jews, and other non-Muslims in Islamic societies

* How the Qur'an and Islamic law treat women as nothing more or less than possessions of men

* Islam's only overarching moral principle: "if it's good for Islam, it's right"

* Why Western leaders who think non-Muslims can "win hearts and minds" among Islamic jihadists are naïve

* Why modern-day jihad warriors despise democracy and will do all they can to resist it

* Filmmaker Theo van Gogh: murdered on an Amsterdam street in broad daylight for offending Muslims -- and other signs that violent Islamic intimidation has come to the West

* Why Europe could be Islamic by the end of the twenty-first century

Above all, Spencer details how the jihad that the non-Muslim world faces today is in direct continuity with the one the Crusaders fought against. It continues today in Europe and even in America while pressure groups intimidate the media into silence about the real nature and goals of Islam. The whitewashed Islam they present, argues Spencer, hinders our ability to defend ourselves against Islamic terror.

Spencer also explains here what we must do to stop the jihad onslaught not only militarily, but culturally. He maintains that we will not be able to defeat today's Islamic jihad without recovering pride in the superiority -- yes, superiority -- of Western, Christian civilization. If we surrender our culture, he warns, soon we will be surrendering our homes. But here at last is a book that helps you reclaim the glorious past of our civilization -- and thereby defend that civilization more effectively in the present.

"A clarion call for the defense of the West"

"The jihad that the Western world faces today is identical in its motivations and goals to that which Europe managed to stave off almost a thousand years ago - thanks in large part to the Crusades of which the West is now ashamed. Today's jihad, as Spencer illustrates here, is proceeding on two fronts: one of violence and terror, and another of cultural shaming and the rewriting of history. Here is a devastating riposte to that revisionism -- and a clarion call for the defense of the West, before it is too late." -- Ibn Warraq, author, Why I Am Not a Muslim, editor, Leaving Islam and What the Koran Really Says

"Sweeping away the politically correct myths about a tolerant, peaceful Islam brutalized by demonic Christian Crusaders, Robert Spencer in this powerful, important book lets the facts of history speak for themselves. Spencer's rousing, straight-talking book is a much-needed antidote to the poisonous propaganda that compromises our current battle against jihadist murder." -- Bruce S. Thornton, author, Greek Ways: How the Greeks Created Western Civilization

"Spencer reminds us of the consequences of our failure to come to grips with the message and implications of Islam. And he warns against the spirit of masochistic self-loathing that permeates the Western elite class. In a sane world Spencer's recommendations -- notably that the upholders of sharia should be treated as political radicals and subjected to appropriate supervision - would not be deemed 'politically incorrect' but eminently sensible." -- Serge Trifkovic, author, The Sword of the Prophet

Father J.L. Menezes knew Islam up close: as a missionary in India, he devoted his priestly life to introducing that nation's tens of millions of Muslims to Christianity. In The Life and Religion of Mohammed, he left us the record of his appeals: a frank, honest, and exhaustively researched exploration of the life of the "prophet" of Islam, the development and contents of the Koran, and an introduction to various Muslim sects.

Working from the earliest Islamic sources, Fr. Menezes provides a complete account of Mohammed's life, from his days as a simple merchant to his triumphs as a leader of armies and revered prophet. Menezes delved so deeply into his subject that he was even able to describe Mohammed's physical appearance. He explains why Mohammed couldn't possibly be a true prophet, and reveals the true sources of his "revelations."

Fr. Menezes could be writing about today's Muslim terrorists when he explains that "Mohammed posed as the apostle of God, the seal of the prophets; as the destroyer of idolatry; as preacher of one true God, and the reformer of morals: while his life is marked by innumerable marriages; and great licentiousness, deeds of rapine, warfare, conquests, unmerciful butcheries, all the time invoking God's holy name to sanction his evil deeds, ordering prayers and alms deeds and at the same time propagating Islam everywhere by fire and sword."

Turning to the Koran, Fr. Menezes delineates the distinctive teachings of Islam, explaining the elements of the Muslim holy book that make it so difficult for Muslims to convert to Christianity -- and showing how the Koran, when read honestly and without Islamic preconceptions, nonetheless depends upon and leads to Christianity.

The Life and Religion of Mohammed concludes with an "appeal to candor and common sense," inviting Muslims to think critically about their religion, and to embrace Christ instead. With Islam on the march everywhere and Muslims streaming into the U.S. in record numbers, the candor, common sense, and solid Christian faith of this book are needed more than ever.

Your guide into the dark mind of Mohammed includes:

The bizarre circumstances of Mohammed's "revelations": "it was a painful sight to behold the nervousness of his features, the distortion of his countenance and the anxiety of mind portrayed on his face"

How worldly ambition gradually blinded Mohammed's mind and overwhelmed his early searches for the true God

How Mohammed borrowed many of his ideas of Paradise from contemporary Jews and Christians -- and mixed them with base and lewd imaginings

How Mohammed again and again justified his rapine and licentiousness with new "divine revelations"

Why Mohammed adopted -- and later discarded -- many Jewish customs and ritual observances

Islamic tolerance: Mohammed let Jews and Christians live in his domains -- if they paid tribute and accepted second-class status

What the Koran really teaches about Christianity and Christ

What Mohammed learned from heretical Christian sects -- and incorporated into the Koran

The early history of Islam: just as bloody as the life of its founder

How the Koran doesn't limit Muslims to four wives, as is widely believed, but actually sets no real limit

Why the new religion Mohammed taught became so commonly identified with war and politics

Statement by Northwestern University President Henry S. Bienen Regarding Associate Professor Arthur Butz

Northwestern University Associate Professor Arthur Butz recently issued a statement commending Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s assertion that the Holocaust never happened. Butz is a Holocaust denier who has made similar assertions previously. His latest statement, like his earlier writings and pronouncements, is a contemptible insult to all decent and feeling people. While I hope everyone understands that Butz’s opinions are his own and in no way represent the views of the University or me personally, his reprehensible opinions on this issue are an embarrassment to Northwestern.

There is no question that the Holocaust is a well-documented historical fact. The University has a professorship in Holocaust Studies endowed by the Holocaust Educational Foundation. Northwestern offers courses in Holocaust Studies and organizes conferences of academic scholars who teach in areas relating to the Holocaust. In addition, Northwestern hosts a summer Institute for Holocaust and Jewish Civilization. And most recently, a fellowship in the political science department has been established in my name by the Holocaust Educational Foundation. In short, Northwestern University has contributed significantly to the scholarly research of the Holocaust and remains committed to doing so.

Butz is a tenured associate professor in electrical engineering. Like all faculty members, he is entitled to express his personal views, including on his personal web pages, as long as he does not represent such opinions as the views of the University. Butz has made clear that his opinions are his own and at no time has he discussed those views in class or made them part of his class curriculum. Therefore, we cannot take action based on the content of what Butz says regarding the Holocaust – however odious it may be – without undermining the vital principle of intellectual freedom that all academic institutions serve to protect.

Dear Howdy,

A common characteristic of Muslims seems to be rage.

They always seem to be outraged and raging. You see their photos all the time -- raging. Angry faces. Angry crowds. Hateful expressions. Mouths wide open, revealing their tonsils and missing teeth. Fists in the air. Fire around them, as flags are burned and stomped.

They must get up in the morning raging, and go to bed at night raging, while raging all day. No wonder they are so poor. They are always looking for the least excuse to rage, especially in front of Western TV cameras.

They even rage at each other, such as between Hamas and Fatah, Shiites and Sunni, etc. They not only hate non-Muslims, they hate one another. Whereas Christianity is a theology of love and peace (by those who truly practice its tenets), Islam is a theology of hate and violence (by those who truly practice its tenets). These attributes reveal the nature of the God (or god) they serve.

I am often reminded of Psalm 2:

"Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion" (vs. 1-6, NIV).

As we observe this rage, let us remember that God actually laughs at them! He will have them in derision. God will have the last word.

I am also reminded of Psalm 37:

"Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart" (vs. 1-4).

* * * Four important things to KNOW: #1) For ALL (Americans, Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Hindus, Buddhist, Asians, Presbyterians, Europeans, Baptist, Brazilians, Mormons, Methodist, French, etc.) have sinned & fall short of the glory of God. #2) For the wages of above (see #1) are DEATH (Hell, eternal separation from God, & damnation) but the Gift (free & at no charge to you) of God (Creator, Jehovah, & Trinity) is Eternal Life (Heaven) through (in union with) Jesus Christ (God, Lord, 2nd Person of The Trinity, Messiah, Prince of Peace & Savior of the World). #3) For God so greatly loved & dearly prized the world (Americans, Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Hindus, Buddhist, Asians, Presbyterians, Europeans, Baptist, Brazilians, Mormons, Methodist, French, etc.) that He even gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, that whosoever (anyone, anywhere, anytime - while still living) believes (trust in, relies on, clings to, depends completely on) Him shall have eternal (everlasting) life (heaven). #4) Jesus said: "I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, & THE LIFE. No one (male/female - American, Muslim, Jew, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist, Asian, Presbyterian, European, Baptist, Brazilian, Mormons, Methodist, French, etc. ) comes (arrives) to the Father (with GOD in Heaven) EXCEPT BY (through) ME (no other name). *** This wonderful loving GOD gives you the choice - - - (Rev. 3:20) {Please note that church membership, baptism, doing good things, etc. are not requirements for becoming a Christian - however they are great afterwards!!!} *** Jesus said, "Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction (Hell, damnation, eternal punishment), and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life (Heaven, eternal happiness, forever with God), and only a few find it.

D I S C L A I M E R If someone should ask if it's legal to download songs
found on various non-commercial sites, such as this one.

Well, I'm neither a lawyer nor a technician,
and I've begun to wonder if it was legal for
us to tape music off the radio back when
tape recorders first came into being.

And were we committing a crime when we recorded
a movie shown on TV with our VCRs? And was it
really legal to buy a dual-deck recorder for the
express purpose of duplicating cassettes?

My answer to all of the above is, "I don't know."

Nonetheless, here is a formal statement in
some kind of legalize that appears to apply
to this kind of file availability:
